We ask for your prayers more than anything today. Nadia has had a very emotional day with us. Tomorrow is the court hearing and she is truly struggling with her desire for adoption. When asked this morning if adoption is what she desires, she answered that she did not know. If asked this question in court by the judge and she responds as she did this morning, he will not grant the adoption.
Last night we had a very fun time celebrating her birthday with friends, a cake, balloons and much laughter. But, this morning as we begin discussions of tomorrows proceedings she began to cry and literally stopped all communication with us. We have met with her teachers today to help all of us in understanding what is best for Nadia. All the adults here know that she will have a much better life in America, as do we. They continue telling her that, but within her heart and due to heartache in her past which led her to the orphanage, she is unable to make a decision without emotionally shutting down altogether. We only want the very best for her whether it is for us to be her forever family or if it is for her to remain her where she is growing and thriving in school, emotionally and with those that she trusts.
Our hearts are breaking as we see this struggle within Nadia's heart. She longs for a family, but right now her past is hindering her ability to move forward.
Please dear friends and family, pray. We will hopefully be able to post an update tomorrow afternoon.
Oh how much she must hurt and I know that you and Darrin do also (as do we upon hearing of this). Our father has a plan and His plan will succeed. It is a fearfull thing to intentionally decide to trust when there is much evidence from past history that screams "Don't trust!". May she (and you two) find peace in this. Ps. 37:4 "Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He will give you the desires and secrete petitions of your heart." (Amplified Bible)
ReplyDeleteSweet Nadia. I am so sorry for the hurt and confusion you are all feeling today! I pray you find your peace in the Lord's strength today. I pray for a release in her, to trust you and Darrin who have come to bring her safety and love in a family who is led by the Heavenly Father. And that she will feel an urgency to become a part of the Brown family!
ReplyDeleteContinuing to trust in our Lord, who led us all to follow Hope's Journey Home! I love you and an praying continually.
Darrin and Kristi-
ReplyDeleteI am praying that the Lord will intervene and turn Nadia's heart firmly toward you. Satan cannot have her! I'm claiming it. I agree with God that she is his, and pray he will take her and not allow Satan to get a foothold. I believe this is warfare- and God will win. PRAYING HARD! Love you-
Angie
Praying for you - and Nadia...praying for her peace of heart and mind.
ReplyDeleteHi Kristi Praying for you and Nadia. We went through some of the same stuff with our Son. Very tough to deal with. Know that you are covered in prayer.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am going to give your email to someone who is interested in adopting 2 twelve plus year olds. Thought maybe you could help.
Love, Stefanie
From Psalm 68 - "May God arise, may His enemies be scattered; may His foes flee before Him... May the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful. Sing to God, sing praise to His name, extol Him Who rides on the clouds, His name is the LORD; and rejoice before him. A Father to the fatherless, a Defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families..." Ah Lord! Let it be done that day - October 2nd, 2009 - that you would set Nadia firmly within the Brown Family for your glory and to honor you. Thank you that you know how to deal with her lonely and broken heart. Thank you that in the months and days leading up to this event and even now, you are equipping Darrin and Kristi to be a rescue salve and a comforting balm to the body, soul and spirit of this precious little one. How we praise you for your incredible plans!
ReplyDeleteLove, Blessings, and MANY Prayers,
Pat Christopherson
We are praying, and we are rallying more prayer around you guys for the court date. Your sensitivity and compassion shows me how close you are staying to the Lord--no matter what. It also says to me that you are already her parents because you are thinking and feeling like parents. I have no idea what will happen in court, but I can't help but think about Kendall's prophetic proclamation so long ago. That encourages me. Thanks for keeping us all posted on everything. Love from Texas!

You all are in my prayers this eve. God's will be done. This happened to me today: This morning I asked for bread for the day... OK maybe an extra calf or two out of all the cows HE owns... Later today, HE showed me two entire hillsides of cows and said HE can give me either hill full. After my heart restarts, HE quietly asks, "But what do you really need?"
